I recently acquired this knife. Feels pretty good in the hands. I believe Schrade made these from 1975-6. There is some speculation these were made from 154CM. But I can't confirm that.

Really cool knife. I like old Schrades. It may be numbered.

I had one and foolishly sold it. They are a beautiful knife. Don't remember what steel they used... Schrade also offered a less expensive version of that same knife with a black resin handle.

Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.

Did you purchase it new? this add say's they were a suggested retail of 100$ even with some discount that was a pretty expensive factory knife. I tried to get a better pic of the add that came with the knife, which they apparently all came with. They allude to a special steel, but I don't know if it's add copy hype of just schrade + steel or some other more expensive steel. And you are right there are Pro Hunter knives PH-1 and PH-2 similar versions of this knife with black handles made with shrade + steel.

Mine was an Ebay purchase probably 15/20 years ago. New in box, if memory serves, purchased for a bit over $100 and sold it for not much more. Same box and paperwork as yours.
