And by my calculations we should have +10,000,000 victims with this latest attack.

Paul, this stuff is supposed to be bird friendly. We have a few pheasants and a bunch of turkey not too mention literally thousands of smaller birds and the last thing we'd want to do is harm them.

And I don't know how it works but it is also bee friendly. Hell, I don't think it even hurts spiders.

Remembering the problem grasshopper years when I was calling coyotes a lot...

You couldn't pay a coyote to come to a distress call. They were feasting on hoppers! For months that's what they ate. Took a couple of real hard freezes to kill the hoppers.

Barry, I've heard that coyotes eat 'em, and no doubt coons and skunks.

There’s a ton here. The turkeys are wearing them out.

Ever since I first watched Lonesome Dove I wanted to try grasshoppers. A couple years ago I caught a couple dozen, dipped them in molasses then breaded them, and fried them up in hot oil. They didn’t really taste like candy, more like French fries.

Did you guys have a dry spring and summer?

Last year(drought) we thought we had bad hoppers. This year(dry again) they are twice as bad.

I'm afraid to even think about next year!

Yeah. It was dry here. My cows watering hole dropped a couple feet . It’s a couple acres in size.

Wonder if the deer eat them. Last year when the cicadas were all over I saw deer hoovering them up in a field while I was turkey hunting.

What the hell, you part coyote?!

Always, if it ain't the drought it's the bugs. Double whammy.

Last year we had a bad bog problem around a large watering hole and actually lost a couple cows. Rode the lake last two days and thank God didn't find anything.

Pappy, our whitetail prefer to eat the corn and alfalfa over the hoppers. Now don't get me started whining on the deer!

Jesus we have some FAT fawns.

They are usually a 3-4 year deal. I think the spray prevents them from shedding their skin and advancing to the next growth stage so it is pretty grasshopper specific. They aren’t bad for us here this year, but we’ve had multiple bad runs of them. Last one ended just a year or two ago.

The deer are thriving. Bunch of water holes and year round springs nearby. It’s a bumper fawn year.

Here in the Flathead this is the first summer I've heard them at night in the trees/forest behind our house and we've been on this property for 22 yrs. at least a mile+ from any farm land.

Tikka, yeah send that prime feed up here, check is in the mail!

Sweet pic.

99F here, I'm inside the shelter with a cold drink.

This baby is currently pumping 2300 GPM, we had to shut it down when we went to move cows but fired it back up this morning, scrambling to finish up before they drop the river next week.

Don't do that! UPS will tear em up and Sam will get hay cubes.

Found some on I94. The fresh ones down low were about 100 miles worth, and other cousins...
