Been needing some 375h&h and I haven't seen any for a good while. Stopped at an gas station today and picked this up. I don't know if that's a fair $ maybe I overplayed but I have a few now and can load them again.

I can remember buying Rem 270 gr for $18.99 a box. When I got my 375 I bought 20 boxes of it and shot it up for the brass. But that was many years ago.

You paid that for H&H? Good Lord. May I suggest you roll your own?

The original price tag looks to have been tore off and replaced with the new one. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Trying to roll your own is not that easy these days since brass is pretty much nonexistent.

I have no issues securing brass although it may depend upon cartridge.

I will when I have brass built up.

Expensive, but you got what you needed!

Reloading can be cheaper... if you're already set up for it and don't need to go out and secure everything needed to do it. Like everything else, it's dependent on your wants and needs. Sometimes buying a couple few boxes of factory ammo is cheaper than reloading.

Well, at least he is building up his supply of brass!

When I got my .375, I bought 5 boxes of Winchester 300-grain FMC and 5 boxes of Remington 270-grain CoreLokt’s and I think I paid about $31/box for all of them. That was about 10-15 years ago. Still using the brass from that factory ammo (and have 2-3 boxes of factory Remington’s left). My how times change!

Ya, ammo has gotten expensive, as have reloading components.

When I got my 375 in about 2008/2009, I did real well. Bought the used Number One in a local gunshop at a good price. Found out it had once belonged to our own Mule Deer here on the 'Fire. Contacted John and he confirmed it.

The rifle also came with some ammo, some handloading components, dies, and a magazine with one of John's articles about handloading for that rifle. Easiest load workup ever! Just build the same ammo that worked for him.

Then a couple of buddies sold me their ammo and components at budget prices. I've been incredibly fortunate in being able to shoot and hunt with a great rifle for a pretty ridiculously low entry fee.

Glad I am sitting on mounds of reloading equipment.

Wasn’t that long ago I was picking up partial boxes of loaded 375 ammo at gun shows for about 10% retail. It wasn’t uncommon to see 17 to 19 loaded shells and the rest empties for a few bucks.

Box of ammo for 1/2 a tank of gas. Not bad tbh.
