Pretty accurate statement that's why guys like to go to Texas or out west to hunt turkeys ....Iowa. Kansas and Texas turkeys are fun to hunt but offer no real challenge to call and kill.

Once you leave Southern Missouri and head north or west or Arkansas and head west you are hunting a turkey with a different mindset.

Neither's worth a hell of a lot to me. Turks about my least favorite game meat. About the only way I can get it down is if my wife makes turkey soup outta the thighs. I can't abide white meat no matter how it's prepared so that usually gets fed to the dogs. I made a fan/beard/spurs mount from one of the first gobblers I killed back in the early 80's but took it down after a few years and eventually threw it away. It took up valuable wall space that was needed for whitetail mounts. Since then beards and spurs get thrown out right along with the guts, heads and feathers. I've simply got no use for them.

You do know the difference between a Wild Turkey and a Turkey Buzzard ?
