Most get internet through land phone.
ALASKA is a "HARD COUNTRY for OLDMEN". (But if you live it wide'ass open, balls'to the wall, the pedal floored, full throttle, it is a delightful place, to finally just sit-back and savor those memories while sipping Tequila).

Most get internet through land phone. Not in Nikiski. Most get it via fixed wireless through either Alaska Communications or SpitSpots.

The prime shipping is bomb. Shipping is often as much as the item, historically.
It still an be. Dry frustrating to encounter a retailer that had not yet heard about flat rate, if thinks UPS / 2d day air is the only way. BTW,2nd day air is an oxymoron in most places.
Depends on who the retailer is. Ive gotten free shipping on tires.

I've used Amazon Prime shipping to good advantage at times. When we lived in Salcha I bought 3 sets of winter tires...all with free 2-day shipping. That was almost 20 years ago though and those deals are hard to find nowadays.
The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me.
