Yes as I said in my original post it was interviews of various camp guards in their own words. Yes it was obvious that some were lying to downplay their involvement. Some were absolutely unapologetic and standby their actions. Others were haunted by their own involvement but it’s also understood that they didn’t have a choice in the end. They either did their job and followed orders or they were sent to the camp (according to several of the guards), the citizenry was just as scared.
I’m going to politely bow out now since these threads never find common ground and only serve to foster bad feelings. I appreciate your perspectives Bristoe and I don’t know if you and I can find common ground here.
I have no love for the Jews but I despise untruths and revisionism even more.
Well said. This was my introduction to the topic. Episode 20 of the British series The World at War, mid-1970s. YRMV
Here’s a good watch for you hawk. Details how it never really happened.
There were certainly camps under German control for all sorts of people identified (rightly or wrongly) as threats to Germany (a la FDR's Japanese Internment program). They were certainly put to work for the war effort (FDR did this as well with regard to Japanese Americans). Many people certainly died under poor conditions from various causes in the German camps, the vast majority of whom during the last months of the war. It was undoubtedly a massive tragedy, one among many such tragedies that occurred in all areas of the world affected by WWII.
That looks like a massive tragedy? Just a common way of dying? I watched the first installment of the people dying of "poor conditions" and the many poor condition deaths ??? We all know it happened, it even showed the German troops filming what they were doing. Even those killers knew why those innocent people it was more than "poor conditions" that was causing millions of people---not just Jewish, to die! Once I saw it was a Ken Burns production, knew I wouldn't have watched it if I knew it was done by him! The pictures however, weren't fake and Burns didn't take them.
Against my better judgement I turned on the show. And then this came across "the myth of Americans being good people is by and large false"
I lasted 15 minutes and I turned off the tv. More socialist BS from Ken Burns.
I watched the Civil War documentary by Burns 30 years ago and it was very good. Evidently Ken got fired up by Black Lives Matter and these days he can't help but put America hating Lib BS into his shows. In that light, he is perfect for "WE HATE TRUMP" PBS.

yea, he had to inject BLM BS into the country music documentary too

Can't understand waiting to be executed. If ya know it's going to happen do some sort of resistance, spit on the fuggers.
Not seeing any documentation of what that's a picture of, I'd assume it represents one of the many cases where partizans were summarily executed in the field under the authority of the military. A partizan is someone who, absent uniform, is working with the enemy of the occupation force, in this case, I'm assuming, the Soviet Union (NKVD).
War is a terrible business, and summary execution of captured partizans wasn't unusual. I guarantee that our allies, the Soviets, engaged in it, too, and likely with less care as to who.
At any rate, that doesn't appear to be an action that took place in a concentration camp.

If there's an agenda attached to the topic, the documentary is a lie,....and there's an agenda attached to pretty much everything that get's broadcast over the propaganda box or in movies or music these days.
The agenda gets funding.
Look up who funded Ken Burns documentary about white Americans being the origin of the Nazis.
Eyes to see, ears to hear. Some people got 'em,....some people don't.
It's a strange phenomenon. I often wonder where it comes from. Then I read John 8:42-47.
Some points are more steeped in history than others. Adolf Hitler, it is documented, was greatly inspired by America’s Jim Crow laws when thinking about how to restrict the rights of Jews in Germany. He drew inspiration from Manifest Destiny, and how American Indians were removed from their land by rotten treaties and placed in reservations.
In other words,...It's Caucasian American's fault.
“It’s not one of the things that will go down in the long annals of good things America did. It goes in a different book,” says Prof. Deborah Lipstadt, forever the voice of reason, coming to terms with something nobody wants to hear — and that she undoubtedly wishes she did not have to say.
She’s speaking about the American response to — and, in some ways, even its shared culpability in — the Holocaust.
