I lived in Satellite Beach near Cape Canaveral for nine years, serving on the city council the last few. At the annual Hurricane Conference, it was the main point of discussion to get people to be serious about hurricanes, since none had then hit Florida for over 20 years and half the population had never seen one. Now, Florida seems to be Ground Zero for hurricanes. The only positive side to that is that now, when the authorities say to evacuate, people actually do.
As to Deflave, I rather enjoy his wit. If you don't spit on him, he doesn't punch you in the nose. If you do, well...it's your own fault what you get.

That model looks a little better for us. Still planning on topping the boat off with fuel and groceries Monday so I can be ready move to the west from Appalachicola.
