We don't we have a vertical spiral egg holder on the counter we just put the most recent on the top and take from the bottom. It holds at least a few dozen and if it fills up its time for German pancakes again.

New to raising chickens. Do you wash the eggs? If so how? Read a few articles on it, just wondering whats is best. I don't.
Eggs have a natural coating that protects the egg from bacteria. Wash them, and they won't last as long. Yes, but the shell is porous. It will allow bacteria to enter. When hens wade around in the dew to feed briefly, they return with moisture on their breast feathers and moisten the eggs when they return to brood. That removes the bloom and allows the forming chick to breathe. Yeppers! I wash eggs! NEVER crack eggs on the edge of a skillet or bowl. It forces bacteria into the egg white. Crack them on the counter or table top. 1) don't want chicken poop on my fridge! 2) eggs seldom last long enough to spoil in the 'fridge at my house!

I refrigerated my home laid farm eggs.
I don’t want chicken shît co-mingling with my lunchmeat and Kool Aid.
So yeaI washed the bloom and the doo doo off of em.
And another thing…I kept eggs sometimes for 8 months, so foucking what. They were still fine.
Eggs don’t need to be thrown away every 10 days. JFC

I don't wash mine, my dog never complains. She gets 4 raw eggs everyday or sometimes 3 depending on which of my 4 hens take a day off.

My girlfriend and closest neighbor raises chickens so I get all the free eggs I can handle. I never wash them until I'm ready to eat them, then give em a quick scrub. This is the best solution.

Whatever eggs you're about to prepare, put them, one at a time, under the tap (warm water) and rub them a bit with your hands. Now wipe each one off, in turn, with a paper towel. That's it. No soap.
