I just got a 10 mm tnw carbine for deer hunting .I hope it's good out to 100 yards which is about my maxium shot in the timber .What is the best factory load for deer ? I am loading 180 gr Hornady xtp bullets and I heard they are very good .I also wanted to know who makes the best extended glock mags .I fought some ets mags for it but I saw mixed reviews .I really like this carbine .I am trying to figure out what other caliber I want it in because it has interchangeable barrels .I am going over kill on a scope on it but my eyes are older and scopes help big time .I am putting a Nikon 3x12 buckmaster scope on it .I can't wait to hunt with it this year .I will try it on does first then try it on a buck .I may double tap a buck if I shoot a big one .I have never seen these for sale in GA .Its well made but the magazine is the key to its good function .I may use a real glock mag for hunting 15 shots are plenty .

Not saying your 10mm won't work, but there are better options. With this one you won't need magazines.

I have killed several deer and antelope with 6.5" S&W revolvers and never had a problem. In fact, I have never needed to fire twice. All have been one shot kills.
The 357 load I use is an LBT gas Checked wide flat nose. Out of the 6.5" barrels they go close to 1300 FPS.
So a 10MM auto is actually a bit more powerful then a 357 mag from handguns--- and even more so from a carbine.

If you shoot well you will not have any problems.

Both the 180 and 200gr XTPs should serve. Underwood makes periodic runs of the 200gr load.

Over the years, I have had poor luck with non-glock brand mags in my Glocks. But that's just me. Other people seem to like them just fine.

I concur...

I shoot .460 Rowland for a bit more power and speed...

BUT 10mm is a fine round at full performance levels...

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

They make the tnw carbine in 460 Roland also but I don't want to fool with another caliber .I can shoot the same bullets in my 40sw pistols or carbine .It only weighs 5.5 pounds and is really short with a 16.25 inch barrel .I want a 18 inch 10 mm barrel which they also make .It has no recoil and would be good to train kids or women .I wanted it because I am getting older and my 10 pound rifles are a lot heavier these days .I can't wait to shoot it with a nice scope .I have heard of a lot of these carbine shooting 1 inch groups at 100 yards .It is about like a super 1022 ruger size and weight wise .I have wanted one for a while .Its a blowback action so it's pretty simple .Its kinda like a semiauto contender with the interchangeable barrels .

What length barrel is your 10mm?

Reason I ask, if you have the long (16") carbine barrel, you can really bump the fps up with them.

With 155 xtp, I'm getting ~1770 fps average. And with 175 cast and 180 xtp's, 1550 fps plus with my handloads.

I built mine to be able to use for whitetail. Most of my shots are well within 50 yards, so I'm using a red dot. Unsure what size groups I can get at 100 since I never get to shoot that far.

last time I shot it, I was hitting steel at 25 and 65 yards. That's all I could tell you. I wasn't shooting for groups. But a hit on target should be food on the table regardless.

If you want/need a Glock extended mag, suggest that's what you get.

Slaves get what they need. Free men get what they want.

It's a 16.25 inch barrel .I want to get the 18 inch barrel that's the max fps with the 10 mm .I think it will be good to 100 yards with 180 gr grain bullets .I got 1200 fps with 200 gr8 bullets out of my 40 SW carbine that's about equal to a 3840 rifle that won the West .The 10 mm adds at least 200 fps to that .I just can't carry heavy rifles like I use to . We can use any size mag here in GA .I will probably just hunt with 15 round mags lighter and shorter .This is about like the old ruger 44 mag deer slayer but better more accurate .

I don't mind giving you my data for 155 and 180 if you want it.

#9 is the best. I've used longshot, be-86, and a few others. But #9 gives me the best numbers out of my 16" barrel.

Yes send me the data for both bullets .I have to find my Lee reloading book again too .It had good 800 x loads for the 180 and 200 grain loads .I had a lot of problems with some brands of once fired brass .The starline and Sig brass and the USA brass are the best .The rest of them had some problem or another .I need to order new brass next time it's hit or miss finding it .My 40 cal ruger carbine shot the 200 gr bullets best and the 135 gr super fast but they were not good for hunting .The 800 x burns really dirty but had the most speed in my 40sw .I can't wait to hunt with this carbine .It took me forever to get one they sell out pretty fast .

Thanks for The loads I can't wait to hunt with it .Its a good little carbine with a lot of power for its size .Its about like carrying a 1022 but way more powerful .I hope I can get some accurate loads in the next two weeks before hunting season .I may pop a doe as soon as it opens on either sex days to try it out .
