I got a 10 mm carbine a tnw and just started loading for it .I tried some once fired range brass and some of it was totally unreloadable because they would not take new primers .The sig brass and starline were the best followed by the USA brass .The rest were a mixed bag from fair to worse . The sellior and ballot brass was fair at best others would not take a new primer at all .I heard hunting loads you only get three loads from new brass .
I tried cfe powder and I have 800 x which is dirty and I want to try win 296 which I found carbine loads for .The cfe pistol powder burned clean but was not too accurate .
I have only tried 180 gr8 Hornady xtp bullets in this carbine .I want to try the 200 gr if I can find any .I also have a Keith style mold for this caliber and want to try powder coated bullets for it .I have loaded 40 SW a lot before but never 10 mm .I had no problem with the glock bulge cases but that was only after 200 rounds .I used rifle primers instead of pistol primers and they worked fine .I had used them before in my 40 SW carbine .This is a super fun gun to shoot but kinda a pain to load for because of primers .I had small and large primer cases .

If you only get 3 loads out of your cases, they are too hot. I find the concept of "carbine loads" of 296 worrisome also, are those loads from a reputable, pressure-tested source? If it isn't, try to find 2400, Accurate #9 or Blue Dot, all of which have safe data from the powder manufacturers.

IME 800-X is good in 10mm pistols, also Silhouette, Longshot, Accurate #7, Power Pistol and Blue Dot.

Congratulations an the Aero, I "need" one of those myself.

I used 800 x and 200 gr Hornady bullets in my 40 SW carbine to get 1200 fps safely with that load .It should go even faster in the 10 mm carbine .I think it should have enough knock down for deer for 100 yards .

The OP didn’t get 3 loadings himself, he just “heard” that was normal for “hunting loads”. Yes, three loadings is far too few for reasonable, safe loads in decent brass. And W296 is just way too slow for the 10mm, it will likely be far dirtier than 800X. The blowback action of the TNW carbine means a dirty action regardless of the powder used. The range brass the OP is using is worn out junk, he’d be advised to use new brass for safety. His “primer problems” are related to the crappy brass he uses, new brass with published loads will keep tight primer pockets for many loads. His mention of “carbine loads” worrys me, the maximum pressure is 37,500 psi regardless of the action.

dgr416,
Is it possible the reason some of the brass would not take new primers is because the primer pockets are too small? There are some brands of 10mm brass that are built for small pistol primers instead of large. I can't tell from your post if the new primers are too large or too small to go in the pockets of some of your bass.

Best of luck with it.
