Saw that yesterday. Kudos to the officer for killing that guy. I'm positive that dog's life is worth more than that perps.
We try not to release a K9 on a suspect known to be armed,but things can develop fast and include unknowns.

If there was a follow-up from every incident like this on whether or not the gun was stolen at some point. I'd bet the firearm was stolen the vast majority of the time.

So let me get this Straight
An Officer serving a warrant for a known Bad guy
Go's after bad guy with a 4 legged Officer of the Law Partner
The 4 legged Partner takes down the bad guy.
Bad Guy points a handgun at AN OFFICERS HEAD and his partner shoots him dead protecting his Partner that had the Gun pointed at him at point blank range.
And they are Investigating the incidence.
What is to be investigated
The Officer Protected his Partner
Bad Guy Reformed so that he will not commit anymore crimes
All Officers go home to their familys
Investigation over.
Win Win for everyone involved except the Officer that had to do the shooting.
He has to live with that
And
The 4 legged Officer that probably has hearing damage now.

They have to “investigate “ a fatal shooting. My guess is it winds up with a couple of “atta boys”.

Precisely. Had that perp killed that dog his next move would of a certainty been to turn the gun on the police. By the video it looked like after the first shot was fired he swung the pistol around to try and shot the human officer. Glad the schitbag is dead.
