They really are, which I why I have a dedicated pair of boots just for spurs. I wear my regular boots and switch out when we get to the pasture and then back to the pickup.

My one and only pair, complete with hand cut buffalo nickels for rowls.
(30 years ago my dad made the rowls, I need a new pair of spur leathers, be sick if I lost one)

Some of us get to the point where we don't have to pretend to be anything. It's a really free place.

Not my thing, but have had friends, acquaintances and a few family members that were horse and/or rodeo people and that may be a worse addiction than guns! I do respect a nice set of spurs for being a work of art. I hope the OP finds a wonderful set.
