Shooting Nosler 150 grain Ballistic Tips in my Jarrett 280 AI but recently came into about 400 LRAB’s of the same weight and want to give em a try. I’ve not really heard much about them other than they can be a little ticky, perhaps with seating depth. Just wondering if anyone has shot them and what your experiences were. I also read that they were made for “400 yards and out” shots if I remember correctly due to the hardness (or softness?) of the lead.
Thanks in advance for any comments.

I shoot the 150`s in my 270.They shoot the best for me about 50 thou off the lands. For a while I was pulling my hair out trying to get a good group but finally got results with max loads of Ramshot Magnum and the bullet 50 thou off. That is from the ogive on the bullet to the lands.
Actually I have found any VLD bullet to respond to that OAL in any caliber.

Its all right to be white!! Stupidity left unattended will run rampant Don't argue with stupid people, They will drag you down to their level and then win by experience

I have handloaded Nosler ABLRs since they appeared, and even .05 off the lands sometimes isn't enough. They 129-grain 6.5mm ABLRs are the most accurate bullet I've yet found in my custom Sisk 6.5 PRC--and seating them .10 off the lands provided the best accuracy, as in 5 shots (not just three) under half an inch at 100 yards.
Have also found many of today's other high-BC bullets to shoot best when seated deeper than the "just off the lands" that was standard for so many years. Monolithic bullets such as Barnes and Nosler E-Tips frequently do this--and again, as much as .10 off the lands.

7/08-150g LRAB, jump .120
7 mag-150g LRAB, start at .120 and increase in .015 as you go
7 mag and 280-175g LRAB, Seat .010 off the lands
7 Mag-168g LRAB, will experiment
6.5x47 Lapua-129g LRAB, .010 off the lands
Did not try the 142g LRAB yet
I can tell you that in the 7/08 and 7 mag, the 150g LRAB PULVERIZES deer and hogs, good penetration and great expansion, they are dead in their tracks
