My B in .22-250 wears an old Vari X iii 3.5-10X.
Getting older, neck doesn't work as well.......even for T shirt wearing chuck blastin, I had to move the scope back and that mandated a rear offset ring.

On my RSI w old M8 4X.....just barely needed an offset ring. Ran it one yr w regs but some steep angle stuff was a chore.
Move that scope back just a bit and it was more comfy all around.

Wasnt wearing too thick of coat either.

Yes, aesthetics are important. Why else run a #1?
If I build one will use the EGW and modify it.
The EGW may have "too much" material wink which is better than "too little".

Aint fat or funky build. Reg Remington stuff fits me very well. Ruger #1s are cool but they have some "quirks".
For a gun that heavy they kick harder than they should. Factory pads (red) suck.
Am debating tearing my #3 apart for a build.

Good old Conquest 3-9x40 worked well on my wife’s 25-06. The long eye relief was welcome due to mounting limitations on a #1.

I put a VX-3I 3.5-40 on my last, a new 1V .243, with good results. Obviously a straight tube wasn’t right for that one. For a 1A or even a B for the use described, a nice 1-6 should do nicely. Recently I had no trouble hitting stuff out to 300 with a 1-6 Triji on my Grendel.

That 1V went down the road as soon as I saw a 6mm Fieldcraft for sale, something I did right for a change.

Yep, Conquest 3-9X40 MC, 4" constant eye relief, standard Ruger low rings. 257 Roberts. The 4X Conquest works in low Ruger rings also.

One of my very favorite reasonably priced hunting scopes. I pick them up whenever I find one for a good price on eBay, GunBroker ect. Pretty good glass, good reticle, rifle mounting friendly, fairly lightweight, there isn’t anything to not like.
