Looking at a 99A serial B9985xx in 250 sav. Straight grip, rubber pad sling swivel studs butt barrel and forend.weaver bases missing rear iron.tang safety. Gray mag counter. Obviously a shooter not a collector. Approximate value? Need a quick reply if any can do that..mb

700-1200 depending on condition.

The rubber pad and sling swivels are not factory. I agree with 99 guy on his pricing. GW

With a serial# like that is it late enough to have the tighter twist barrel?

That's a pretty decent price these days for just about any 250 in functional condition.

With the 1-10 twist just about anything will stabilize through it. Mine shoots the 80gr TTSX very well with a chronoed 15' velocity just about 3000fps on the nose.

Take a good look. Check the bore. QC was was sketchy in the early 80's. Great looking and handling little rifle, if everything is OK you'll love it

Joe and I were shooting his 250 A last weekend and curiously it would not shoot 100 grain Core-lokts worth a damn.

We are going to try some longer 115-120 grains.

It's a beautiful little rifle.

I didn't get a chance to measure the barrel length but what 22 or 20 inches? The butt was straight gripped and it had a rubber pad on it, just a rubber buttplate no cushion section. Rear sight had been removed to facilitate scope use, as it has weaver bases on it. I'd pull the forend sling swivel stud. I know it isn't even close to collector grade, I want one to shoot...mb

SN dates to 1975, so expect a 20" barrel.

I'm going to go over all the mount and scope screws. John sent pics of bug hole groups he shot with it using 100 gr CL's.

Huh. Could be it just wasn't tight. Or the barrel got too hot?

That would be nice if it would shoot those 100's.

I usually just give them 2 grunts and a groan and call them tight. This time we actually used a torque wrench and torqued all the screws. I used the one piece Leupold that was on my 300 pig gun. Gonna go over all the basic stuff.
