On the first flintlock I built from scratch, I drilled and tapped the barrel and installed a touchhole liner. I filed it smppth to the barrel, but unfortunately had not screwed it in far enough first. First time I fired it my dad was to the right of me and the charge blew right through the liner it was so thin. He never stood to my right again.
