Bad shot. I aimed behind the shoulder and hit her thru the front shoulders. It took her till I walked up to her before she died. Range 190 plus yards.

This speed goat is nice but I've got a bull elk tag and the season ends on Halloween. We need a storm to drive the elk down. Roy you are up wind from me, send us a storm with lots of snow.

Let the killing begin! Nice job David.

All we got here is smoke and heat brother, no help for at least a week.

Roy, we've got some high clouds but the weather forecast says no. Our lows have been below freezing for a couple of weeks but it'll take snow to drive them down.

No, the exit hole on the other side really destroyed some meat. But it won't go to waste. I gave the goat to a neighbor who said he'll feed the blood shot meat to his chickens. He also asked me to bring the guts from my future kills for his chickens.

Thanks wyo,
Earlier this spring a buddy called and asked if I knew anyone interested in a used and slightly abused 99 in .300 Savage. Well I happened to know a guy (me) who was, and for the friend discount, I picked it up. Since it wasn’t a collector item I decided to freshen it up a little. I worked on it off and on during the summer until it ended up like you see in the pic. I was bound and determined to kill something with it this year so after gleaning four boxes of brass from dad, and loading a 150 partition over some Varget, here was the result.
The rifle came out in 51’ and the scope is an old Weaver medalist 3x9. I decided to leave it alone when it made 1/2 to 3/4” groups.

My wifes 1st moose. And her 1926 vintage .303 that I restocked to fit her. Two shots with 150 gn hornady round nose over IMR 4064. The 2nd shot was redundant, I prefer not to risk a longer than necessary pack job!

It doesn't get any better than that. A woman with a 303, killing a nice bull moose. And the kids got in on the deal.
The rifle looks like a 99C.

Yukon 7x57,

We do a Kill Page every year.

You very well might have the best pic of the year.

Congratulations on the moose. And great family picture. I bet your kids are growing up pretty darn cool.

The rifle looks great. Very well done.

What weight charge of Varget did you use with the 150 partitions?
