Right group is 120 NBTs 47 Gr RS-Hunter CCI250s & PPU brass; left is 140 SGKs 49 Gr H4831 CCI250s & PPU brass.

Very very happy! Thanks for all the direction on these loads fellas!

Looking forward to confirm in an what my bro Kenjs1 said about those SGKs on whitetails!

I’m doing a spot & stalk spring black bear hunt in May & this rifle & one of these loads (or 130 NABs?) will likely accompany me…

A campfire special right here:

I had really good luck with RL23 with 130 and 140 gr Nosler Accubonds for both velocity and accuracy. I was a few grains above Alliants max load and used Lapua brass.

Who posted the Seyfried article on the Campfire fairly recently concerning the 6.5 Swede? I bookmarked it but the link no longer exists. Thanks

22250 posted this several months ago:

In the Feb. 1991 issue of GUNS & AMMO. Ross was the shooting editor at the time and did an article entitled; " 6.5 It Does It All" and according to Ross, "There are no better medium bore cartridges than the dynamic duo of the 6.6x54mm Mannlicher and 6.5x55mm Swedish Mauser". He was hunting in Alaska with a Model 1903 Mannlicher-Schonauer in 6.5x54 and also helping his friend Tom Rigden build a new hunting camp in return for some hunting opportunities. It's a good article and he covers both the 6.5x54 and 6.5x55 quite well. That was the article that sparked my interest in the 6.5x55 and I knew I had a copy of that issue around here. Didn't get a chance to dig it out until tonight. Sure seems like the article you mentioned.

This might the same article I read that also got my interest and lead me to buy my first 6.5x55! 1991would be about the right time. If you would be able to scan the article it would be awesome and a trip down memory lane!

I was looking up VitaVouri loads for my M96/38. When I came apon 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser and 6.5x55 Scan, SE . My question was "What's this?" Turns out there is a new CIP standard. And a warning from VihtaVouri, The 6.555 Scan loads are for modern rifles.

'16 Spanish Mauser with a 24" Numrich barrel in 6.5x55

120gr Nosler BT with 43.5gr of IMR4350 going roughly 2700 - 2750fps (need to chronograph it).
3/4 - 1 1/4" group at 100 yards (5 shots/bench)
the 120gr NBT bullets is leftover from the 6.5CM. it should be 140gr Hornady SST that goes roughly 2600-2700fps.
