I wasn’t gonna post this as parts of it come across like from a gossip magazine and not History101 but since folks are talking about the circumstances of the crash here’s a thorough account. Like Buddy Holly et al., Jim Croce, Randy Rhodes, Stevie Ray Vaughan and I suppose Kobe Bryant, all preventable had the usual practices and precautions been in effect. I this case the account has it the plane in question was known to be liable to serious mechanical problems. I was watching FOX the other day and they said Artimus Pyle survived the crash, went to a nearby home, and the homeowner thought he was an intruder and shot him, he was just winged, wtf??
Sad day indeed, one of the best bands, ever. The homeowner fired a warning shot, then helped Pyle and helped rescue the other survivors. Pyle later stated that he had joked that the farmer shot him, and that it was not true. Then he stated on FOX just yesterday that buddy winged him, maybe he is a bullshyter. Pyle’s brain is probably fried from too many years of smoking dope and alcohol abuse. 🤪
