Not yet, but I suspect up in the hills anytime now. It hasn't rained in several months and its been warm during the day, but frost or near zero in the morning. Heavy frost and frozen water up high means snow anytime if there is precipitation, supposed to get some rain this weekend, likely snow up high, great for hunting.

We got hit Sunday night with a bit, but now gone for the week, but the smaller lakes are icing over. The MacKenzie Valley had snow last week that'll stay until June!

Hwy 17 between Wawa and the Soo closed for awhile yesterday and hwy11 closed between Longlac and Hearst. Got 6 inches on Lake Nipigon but mostly melted this morning. My buddy in Marquette Michigan got 20 inches and power is out.

Hasn't snowed at my deer camp since December 23 1989. But one can still hope.

Paul; Top of the morning to you my friend, today I'm fairly confident in wishing you a Happy Friday... Thanks for the photos once more, although I don't always comment I absolutely do always enjoy them immensely. We're still not getting any measurable precipitation even on the mountains, which is late by a couple weeks at least. Yesterday morning sitting at 5000' waiting for an elk that didn't show, it was 9° when we left the truck which again is about 9° warmer than normal - at least - for up there in the last bit of October. We're hoping it at least cools down somewhat before the moose opener on Nov. 1st as this unusually warm fall has meant changes in how or better said where we hunt since getting large animals off the mountain represents it's own challenges. Should also explain that we hunt as far from roads or quad access as possible because that's where there's more large animals. Thanks again, all the best and good hunting. Dwayne

First snowfall of the year here in central Saskatchewan. Just not quite ready for it to be all white for the remainder of the winter.
