There was a thread some months back on smith’s who do blueing.
I can’t seem to find it because I am to dumb to figure out the search procedure on this forum. It tells me I want to search to big a time frame or can only search a year back or some other nonsense.
Anyway, I have an older friend who needs a Smith & Wesson revolver blued and he was needing some names of some gunsmiths who provide such services in the southern Indiana area. I believe someone mentioned a guy around Washington or the Petersburg area.

Blueing isn’t cheap anymore - a lot of it has to do with the manhours to polish the metal which needs to be done before you re-blue to have a good job done. A smith can take it apart and send it into a bluing outfit… and you end up paying for the dis-assembly, and re-assembly plus the bluing…

It “USED TO BE” that you can get the original maker to Re blue fairly cheaply… not so much anymore.

I’m starting on blueing this winter or early next spring, but I’m doing it mostly for friends right now at my cost type pricing… I’m more on the artisan side than I am on the money making side so I will take my time with it…

Anyway - those guys should work, if not most smiths that I know do the tear down / re-assemble and send it to an outfit up in Iowa…
