I have a 1950 336 that had a lyman peep site that I removed. I now have empty screw holes on the side. I bought some 8/40 screws thinking they would fit (cause I read it on the innanet). I can't get them to work. Anybody know what I need for plug screws on the side of this rifle? Thanks for the help!!!

I bought a '52 Marlin 35 Rem. this summer that had a Williams receiver sight that I removed. Standard 6-48 plug screws fit mine.
