There should be one from each party. More simple. At least in Alabama, and many other states, you have a runoff if no one gets 50% of the top two. I noticed where two Republicans split over 50% of the vote and a Dem got about 48%. Then there was a Libertarian.

All we can hope for now is that the Begich voters (of which my wife and I are) ranked Palin 2nd like we did. As for the senate, I hope Kelly can hold onto her lead, it's time the Murkowskis of the world disappeared from Alaskan politics. That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink. Steelhead

I think I saw that any absentee ballots that were dropped off after Nov. 3rd have not been counted yet either.
