I accidentally discovered PCP air rifles a couple of years back while reading a magazine from England. Since that time I have acquired several rifles in .17, .22, .25, and .30. After getting used to them I found them to be surprisingly accurate despite my lack of shooting skills.
I’ve also purchased a couple of springers which have proven to be a whole different shooting challenge.

Nice shooting 👍

I sold my only PCP recently, and my springers. I was too cheap to buy an electric pump for the PCP and the hand pump got tiring. The hold sensitivity on the springers was too much hassle for me.

I've been on a pumper kick of late. They don't have the power of a PCP or piston rifle, but I just like them, and they can be quite accurate once you fiddle around to find the pellets and velocity they like. I just wish they were available in calibers larger than 22.

I just bought my first PCP, an Umarex Gauntlet in 25 caliber a week or so ago and can't get enough trigger time in now. It's more accurate than I can ask for and I've already made a few tweaks and an externally adjustable hammer tensioner and bought the electric pump. These regulated guns are phenomenal, especially for $300.

PCP’s are hard to explain to someone who’s never shot one before… When a newbie comes over to shoot mine I always start them out on my FWB 124 first, then my RWS 48. Then they get shoot the Marauder and finally the FX Impact. The smiles just bigger and bigger as they get into the PCP’s! My smile got a whole lot bigger when I bought the GX electric pump. Worth every penny.

Please tell me more about the GX electric pump. Which model did you get?
How does it seem durability wise?
Thanks

GX CS2. It seems well made. I’ve never bought a warrantee for anything like this but I did this time. $40 for four years. Don’t know how good the warrantee will work but hope to never find out.

I shoot my Impact down to 100 bar and it takes the compressor 11 minutes to pump it back up to 250. My Marauder I shoot down to about 2000 psi and it takes about 3 minutes to pump it back up to 3000 psi. I have a notebook to log these times. Directions say to grease it after 50 hours so I figured I’ll only know by logging the usage.

I haven’t run it an hour yet so I honestly don’t know about durability but from the outside it looks like it should hold up well.
