"The River Walk" is equivalent to "The French Quarter".
The last place you want to be in either city. I believe that. Pat's a friend but way off on the above. My wife and I love the River Walk. And it's way, way, cleaner than the French Quarter.

The French Quarter and 90% of New Orleans is a real Schitthole. The River Walk in San Antonio is 90 % tourists. And 100% cleaner.

Don't waste your time with Ruth's Chris Steakhouse there......Loud, busy and too expensive for the worst overcooked steak I've ever had.

The last place you want to be in either city. I believe that. Pat's a friend but way off on the above. Agreed. I don’t go because it’s crowded and expensive, all that aside it is pretty and quite safe. Ecologically correct too. The spectacular Blue Hole Spring a couple of miles upstream that was the headwater of the San Antonio River went dry years ago (2+ million people using the aquifer) so the River Walk is all recycled sewage water now 🙂

My wife and I love the River Walk. And it's way, way, cleaner than the French Quarter. I hate it when I’m eating and the friggin’ Mariachis show up. I believe if you can sing they won’t let you be one. A place I used to eat at regularly I’d bring earplugs just in case.

Hands down, Bohanan's Prime Steak and Seafood. Agree.

I stand corrected. The River Walk is not the last place you want to be in San Antonio. Nor is the French Quarter the last place you want to be in New Orleans.
But both cities offer much more than the tourist traps.
Same for just about any place that has a rich history.

The spectacular Blue Hole Spring a couple of miles upstream that was the headwater of the San Antonio River went dry years ago (2+ million people using the aquifer)… That’s too bad. We used to go to the campus of the University of the Incarnate Word just to go see the Blue Hole. That water comin’ up from that white limestone was pristinely crystal clear.
Every day on this side of the ground is a win.

Gawd....an expensive tourist trap filled with 1000's of people I don't want to know?
I have no desire to see Vegas either.

Hate to hear that. Was watching old Reruns of TX Country Reporter the other day, and it was an episode about the Blue Hole Springs.

Only once did I have a better steak in a restaurant than I make at home.
Don’t do steak in restaurants any more. I hear ya, Mike. +1

I didn't hear any of the "I can do it better myself" guys offer to cook one for the OP. Useless comments except for empty bragging.
