I thought I would pick up a 686 6” and 629 6.5” for hunting. Any thoughts trim red dots and mounts for these two?
Thanks fellas

I have a 5” 629 classic with a Leupold delta point pro on it. I used the EGW mount and like it, well made and seems very strong. For years I wanted to put a handgun scope on it but the prices for mounts and quality scopes kept me from taking the plunge. A red dot was less expensive and more practical to me.

The Holosun is the same footprint as the RMR and the mount is Allchin. A really slick setup.

RMR is the way to go. Works great with a Burris FFIII on my 7" 686. Amazing accuracy from a handgun. I could be talked out of this gun if it meets your needs send me a PM. I also have a 686 4" I'm looking to sell. PM if interested.

Nice! I love the Holosun 507C on my Glocks so thanks for the heads-up on that mount for the 629.

I discovered after I bought it that other red dots need to be removed from the gun to change batteries and re-zeroed. I’m happy that I’m a Leupold fan boy because I’d have been very unhappy learning that difference. It’s something to look at when you start shopping. Hope it helps.

I tried to attach a red dot to my GP100 10mm but it did not work. I have a Glock model 40 and a Dan Wesson that both have hollow sun 507 xc2s on them. I traded in the Trijicon for the hollow sun and love it.
