This is pretty much my go to, great on pretty much anything, especially red meat and pork. What’s yours? ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/GpFnGS61/2369-D6-B2-585-B-4704-BDF0-F30-A9183-AF59.jpg)

Hell most of the time I don't even salt or pepper my pork steaks anymore. Occasionally, I'll use the Desert Heat dry rub I got on sale.

Lately, simple seasoning for my steaks has been fresh ground black pepper and the coarse ground version of Lawry's garlic salt

Salt, pepper, thyme. Sitting on some thick pork chops right now. On the grill in a bit. I like it to diffuse for hours, if not overnight.

On pork chops I like garden variety Tony Chachere's, Prudhomme's Meat Magic or Prudhomme's Pork and Veal Magic.

Chicago steak seasoning on red meat. Lemon pepper and Cavender's Greek on chicken.
Now with even more aplomb

I often use this on just about any/everything. Great on beef, chicken, pork, fish. Filled an empty Fiesta fajita seasoning jar. ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/5NOLvgP.jpg)

I can like Chachere's on about any meat. Another good one I've found for pork is Good [bleep]. It's a bit sweet; too sweet IMO for beef. For beef, I can like a Montreal Steak Seasoning.

A few years ago my wife and I took a trip to Chicago. She had lived there for a few years and said we had to stop at the Spice House. I thought what's so great about a spice store? Well she had to drag me out of there an hour later. That place is fantastic! Recently placed an order and one of the items I got was this Italian Steak Seasoning. Absolutely the best on steaks. A good simple doesn't need any seasoning except for a little salt and pepper. A seasoning is supposed to taste like seasoning; it doesn't need fancy-assed rubs, seasonings, or sauces. (At least that is what I have learned from the 'fire's expert conizers every time the subject arises.)

My go to seasoning on pork chicken and beef is Head Country All Purpose, it's made in Oklahoma, got hooked on it when I lived there, now I have it shipped to me. It's not overpowering, has mostly common ingredients I suspect. I buy it in these 7 pound tubs, that way I have plenty to give away too. https://www.amazon.com/Head-Country...hy=9017769&hvtargid=pla-823501824899

(At least that is what I have learned from the 'fire's expert conizers every time the subject arises.) I don't disagree completely, as I have gone more towards simple seasonings (salt and pepper) lately. However, a bit of corn starch or even flour can create an incredible crust on a steak. I haven't found any spices or salt that can create that crust.

2 Tbsp table salt and a bottle of good-tasting drinking water is my favorite "simple" seasoning. Works damn great on chuck roast.

Thanks for the recommendation The flat pack with free shipping showed up last week. I grabbed a couple New York steaks on my way home from work this afternoon. Drizzled some EVOO and then hit the steaks aggressively with the seasoning. Grilled to medium rare. I was definitely impressed with the seasoning. I’ll be ordering more for sure
