Anyone load these? Loading manuals are typically conservative on the 280 data. I currently load 160 gr. Partitions w/H4350 and get 2854 fps, no pressure signs in my 280. Just looking for data that doesn't require a lot of waste of powder & bullets (what with the current "state of affairs" with components).

Maybe correlate some 270 Win data with 140's to get you some modern specs? I use RL26 and H4831 with 140 and 145 grain bullets. 26 does 3150 with 140 Sierra's/BBC's from my 725 and H4831 does 3000 with LRX's.

The nice thing about Barnes is their load data is available to anyone with a computer. H4350 is listed in their data. If you have a bunch of it, that is where I'd start. Makes it easy. It seems like a lot of you guys want a recipe handed out to you on a golden platter, but what you don't realize is every rifle is different and it's own entity when it comes to what it likes. You will have to work up a load, unless you are happy with just mediocre. The same can be said for seating depth. Your rifle may like .025" off the lands and another one will prefer .100" off the lands. There is a reason why those that know, say to "work up" a load. Work up a load...

Why not just go down to the classified section and make Phamseller an offer on a bunch of 160 Partitions? You’ve already got a load that will kill anything at which you’d point a 280. No waste in that at all.

Over the years, I’ve loaded Barnes 140 grain X, TSX, XLC, and TTSX bullets in a Ruger MK II stainless .280 Rem over 48.5 grains of H414. Shoots 3/4” groups. It’s my daughter’s deer taker.

I never ha much luck with the 140 gr. TSX bullet in any of my 7MM rifle. Can't say anything about the 7MM Rem. Mag. as I haven't done anything with it other that run a few rounds to get an idea how it shoots. However, the 140 TSX has been a flop in three 7x57 rifles and a .280 Rem. I could also add that so was the Nosler 150 gr. Accubond. Too bad as I have reasonably high hopes for that on in the 7x57. The 150 gr. Partition is a tack driver in the 7x57 in all three rifles so I'm good to go. My .280 Rem. likes the 160 gr. Speer Hot Core so I'm good there. So far, the only all copper bullet that has worked for me is the 225 gr.TSX in my .35 Whelen. Guess I'm thankful for the loads that do work.
