I don't think that tweet does sum it up. It's about control, not money. The money is fiat. They print it at will. It is just a tool of control, not the end goal.
Even the "national debt" is just a tool. Money is created through loans, but the money to pay the interest is not created, so something has to be a repository for the growing debt that is a feature of the monetary system. It's all nonsense, but if a majority subscribe to it, those who run the system have the control.

If you work 40 hrs/wk: at 5% inflation and after 5 years, you need a 28% pay raise or to work 44 more hours (*one full extra week* per month+) to make up the difference.
