Local FFL has a Buckmark Rifke, heavy bull barrel. Used
They are asking $600. I'm having a hard time finding food pricing metrics for that model, or the shorter version, for recent listing.

They are holding it for me for a few hours until it goes on the shelf.

Well, I bought it. like new, one mag, box and manuals. only very slight showings of having been fired. otherwise very clean

also they had 22-250 ammo, which is a godsend for me, so thank you for convincing me to go and buy it laugh

When I bought my SS camper it came with 5.5" heavy barrel.
Years later I found a 7.5" SS heavy barrel.
Like the longer one best.

Aether tech: My heavy barrel BuckMark "Rifle" has a Leupold 2x7 variable scope on it and is rather accurate and tons of fun!
I have had it about 12 or 15 years and I forget what I paid for it - I bet you will forget what you paid for this one in 15 years after all the fun you will have had with it.
Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.
I wish I could be more help right now on evaluation - these are kind of rare to see for sale.
Let us know how yours shoots.

$600 seems like fair price for one in excellent condition. I bought one NIB for about that last year, but thought that was a bargain and things are higher now.

I bought the standard model for the iron sights class in Steel Challenge a few years ago.

At the time, Dahlonega Armory had the best price I could find on that rifle. I just looked at their site and the price you paid seems fair, especially since they don't have any in stock.

FWIW, I love mine. It's a lot more fun to shoot than I thought it would be...and it's accurate too!

Yea, I got it - and some cheap 22-250 ammo.

Got home and checked the price with working internet, and saw the heavy barrels going for 900-1200.

Aether tech: Good for you - be sure and let us know how it shoots.
What do you plan on doing with it - mostly Hunting or mostly plinking?
And thanks for your update on values - that is sobering.
Enjoy.

P.S.: My Browning BuckMark heavy barrel Rifle shot the Winchester 40 grain Power-Point (hollow-points) just a tad better than the much cheaper Federal 36 grain bulk pack hollow-points.
I mostly Hunt with my BuckMark so haven't tried any "target type ammunitions" in it.

Just plinking and targets. Its mostly for my arthritis, the actual pistol grip is far more comfortable than my marlin 60.

Of course, someone will ask me why not just get a 10/22 and chasis....

good buy, next time you are on midway, brownells, or wherever placing an order, pick up an extra recoil buffer for it. You may never need it, but if you do, you'll have it on hand.

Interesting comment....

Is it a known long term issue?

Depends on how many rounds and what you are putting through it, they are nothing but plastic, they are cheap, pick one up to have on hand. Some folks replace them as routine maintenance every few years.

Always dismissed these as gimmicky, but I’ve mellowed some. I know my range buddy is very fond of his BM pistol, and its trigger pull is very nice.

Do you BM guys find that slide in your face distracting?

Pappy348: A person would have to turn their face sideways and shove their nose forward between the scope and the stock to even get close to the rearward extent of the slides throw!
I have a Leupold 2x7 variable scope on my heavy barrel BuckMark and have never had a problem or concern.
If a person were to chose the sporter weight barreled Browning BuckMark Rifle they have "open sights" and somehow a person could crawl up to with 1 1/2" - 2" of the rear of the receiver and get "bit" somehow by the rearward moving slide?
My heavy barrel model BuckMark has no open sights so no problemo.
If you are interested search out BuckMark Rifles and they have a plethora of video reviews that show how very little the slide moves during firing.
Long live the Browning BuckMark line of rimfire guns.

Hairtrigger: I did NOT know Browning made a BuckMark "Carbon Rifle" - any chance of a photo or I'll just go do a search?
That should be a handy and cool rig.
I am glad it shoots well for you.
Has the Browning BuckMark Rifle been discontinued?
TIA
anyone.

Haitrigger: Thanks for the comeback and the picture - that is a good looking rig!
I enlarged the photo and noticed some objects that look like artifacts - are they for sale?
Enjoy that lightweight BuckMark.
Thanks again.

Those rocks are ones I found on the family farm either while I was driving tractor or walking to a woodchuck I had just shot!

I have a few arrowheads as well. Anymore it is unusual to find an arrowhead that is not beat up and broken. Far machinery keeps getting bigger and bigger

I would say they are not for sale because I have no idea what they are worth

Good thing you bought that rifle. All that go on Gbroker sell for over $1000. So I'd say a smart purchase and investment!!

RIA just put up their April 5th Auction catalogue, includes a Buckmark Rifle, heavy barrel. With the most canted scope i've ever seen on a 22. If anyone was interested in getting one and hasn't seen them elseware.
