We had a similar encounter this fall hunting elk. We didn't have a dog for early warning, but still managed to survive. Grizzlies are at the top of the food chain and pay little attention to the hunter regardless of his protection. There are still some big bears in the lower 48...




There is a 6 point bull elk dwarfed by that bear

I've never actually seen a grizzly bear, but that one looks pretty big.
