Anyone with personal experience using a Benchmark barrel? Unfortunately neither Krieger or Bartlien will make a stainless barrel in a #2 contour in 30 caliber. It mystifies me why it is OK with many button rifle manufacturers but not the cut rifle folks.

Anyway, I believe my next barrel will either be Lilja or Benchmark and I am looking for opinions.

Using several of them currently, absolutely great product. I’d take one over a Krieger or Bartlien any day.

I contacted them about a barrel a few months ago for a project and they told me they were 10-12 months out on delivery...

Benchmark WILL do a #2 cut. So will rock if they ever open back up to orders; last I spoke to them that’s no time in the near future.

I have a 358 #3 1-9.5 SS from Benchmark. They seem great to deal with and a few friends rave about them.

Quality product and cool guys, started as a couple hillbilly farmers, though they were much quicker when they were building rifles out of a barn behind their dairy.

Shaen installed a Benchmark for me and I’ve been extremely happy with. He said it was the straightest barrel he’s seen.

I’ve heard a dozen of them stories. Seems like they’re doing well.

Smaller contour SS cut barrels is a plus too

Benchmark, Lilja and Pacnor will make the mountain contour, a #1 and #2…. And they’ll shoot fantasmic!

Send your action to Pacnor and they’ll square up the action, etc.. and install whatever contour you want.

Have several benchmarks. Great barrels.

i am sure benchmark makes a great barrel but you can place a order online with lilja and have it in a few weeks...my last one shoots great

My last barrel was a Lilja....took 4 months.

my last one took two weeks
order on line they have several barrels in stock they just need to taper it to your contour

They are good to go. I've used somewhere between a half dozen and a dozen. If they are less accurate than the Kreigers, Barts, and Brux I own, I can't tell.

I have a Lilja, number 3 contour, 3 groove, fluted, 7mm barrel, chambered in 280ai, that they built for me on a Remington long action.
It shoots the only bullet I wanted it to, a Barnes 140gr ttsx, into tiny groups.
They built me an awesome rifle.
2 elk, and 2 oryx so far.

I have several Lilja barrels. They’re very accurate. Have not tried Benchmark.

Travis Stevens of TS Customs uses Benchmark barrels almost exclusively if that tells you something.

I ordered one direct at the first of the year. It did in fact take 11 months to show up. I wasn’t in a rush so didn’t bother me, but just be aware it will likely take a while unless you find it in stock some where.
