So, I got into this rifle because it was too good a deal to pass on, but I already have a Hunter in 6.5 CM and don't need a duplicate. I'm thinking about putting a new barrel on it in 22 CR, with a duplicate contour/length and a 1-7" ROT.

I'm not going to use a suppressor, so 22" without any threads.

I already have Hunters in 6.5 CM and 308, so looking for a smaller bore cartridge to complement those that I already have.

Any constructive input would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

260, I can’t see anything to not like about it. Pretty sweet rifle for the money I’d think. I’ve been trying to figure out the 22 CM I want and that’s a damned good idea really since you can pick up Hunters for decent money. Feeding and COAL shouldn’t be an issue in the magazines.

I traded a nice, but not mint, Marlin 336 for the Kimber. He really wanted the Marlin and didn't feel a particular need for the Kimber, so he got the Marlin, a Weaver base, a set of B-Square low 1" rings, and 2 boxes of Herter's (Cabela's) 150 grain 30-30 ammo. I got the Kimber, a set of low 1" Talleys that he installed, the original box and box fillers, plus a partial box of Hornady ammo that he'd use to sight the rifle in.

You’ve sent me on the hunt for a Hunter now. With the ability to do an MPI stock if I felt the need it could be a sweet set up.

I’m pretty new to the Kimbers and have only shot a few but I’m starting to like them.

That’ll turn out a really sweet rig.

I wish Kimber would wake up to what they can do with the hunter models….

7 or 8 twist .223’s, 22-250’s or .22CM.
They couldn’t make them fast enough…..

You aren’t kidding. I’d be line for the 223 and 22-250/22CM.

But AKs probably right. Better luck seeing Joe Biden make a solid policy grin

Regrettably, no one ever got rich catering to Loony notions. The money’s in the easy and cheap stuff like Glocks and ARs. Occasionally something truly interesting slips through and sticks in the market, but the percentage of Loonys is too small for big companies to hang their hats on.

Hell, the percentage of shooters that merely handload is actually pretty small.

So, I’ve got a rather large pile of .224 75gn A-Max projectiles.

I ordered a 1:8 .224 Lilja Kimber Montana factory contour duplicate and had it finished @ 22” and chambered to 22-250. Everybody loves shooting it, and can shoot well with it.

I’d not hesitate to 22Creed an 84m of any flavor.

I'd be in line for all 3 of them.

Have you considered re-chambering the 22-250 to CM?
