So polaris has put out an electric side by side called the kinetic. Supposedly 45 miles of range with the premium model and 80 with the ultimate model. It is being advertised as the strongest ranger they have ever created in terms of towing, hauling, etc.. The big catch for me is the price, 25k for the base model to start MSRP.

I love the idea of electric in regards to reduced noise. suppose to be less maintenance, no fumes. I will only be hunting and a small amount of trail riding, working at the hunt club. I am heavily considering ordering one from my local dealer. Has anyone seen one of these or have any thoughts on this new model? Trying to do my due diligence but not much info out there yet about this utv. Thanks

Interesting, haven't heard of these yet but not surprised to see them hit the market.

My question is how well will it do in severe winter weather? Tesla's lose range real fast when it gets below 40*, how is this going to do when people take it hunting at 0* weather??

How is that 45 mile range calculated? Flat land? Sea level? Maximum load? When we're out trail riding, we routinely get close to 45 miles in a day and we're in places where I guarantee you won't find a charging station.

I myself wouldn't buy one rather stay with gas operated.

Not much use in an off-grid camp like we use. We have a genny but it only gets run 2 hours in the evening.

Rock, I wouldn't think altitude would affect electric rigs.
I've heard those things will run fast enough to scare the @*!# out of you.

For me it has 2 strikes against it -

1. Polaris
2. Electric off road

I'd not bother sticking around waiting for a third.

Aunt had an electric ATV up at the Colorado ranch. Her personal rig. Don’t know what brand it was. I used it a couple of times. It was not used real heavy like. She just went back and forth, Ranch HQ, big house, guest house, and such. I generally used a Kawasaki when I was out doing fence repair. I do know she could sneak up on you with that thing! It was really quiet!!! 🤣

I have an all terrain golf cart already.

You can purchase a good condition "street legal" 2011 Jeep Wrangler 4 door with A/C and heat for $20,000. I don't understand the side by side craze.

Make sure you bring along plenty of hot dogs and marshmallows for when the fuqqer burns to the ground. $25,000.00 that's insane.

I certainly hope Polaris figured out how to fix their electrical woes with it being electric and all.

From the company, which is hard to know if accurate, has been tested a bunch in cold and severe weather. With me mainly hunting in NC with a week in Ohio in November not something I am too concerned with for my purposes. Fair question for sure thanks for the reply.

"Mixed terrain" but I am sure from the company it does not include climbing mountains for sure. I will be using it mainly in flat NC though.

Electric golf carts don't do so well in flooded rice fields. I'm imagining this won't either.

Thanks for the reply. Never owned a Polaris personally and the first run of any type of vehicle is a concern for sure.
