I have a Remington 700 manufactured July 1963, chambered in 30-06. This rifle has been sitting in my safe a long time. The stock finish is before the Dupont bowling pin finish. The barrel is 20". The sights are original as is everything else. I am asking $1,000 shipped to your FFL from a non-FFL. Alaska and Hawaii will be more due to air-line shipping costs. I've taken many pictures. This rifle is is very good condition.

Why is the barrel 20"?

Remington made some early 700's as a 'carbine' model with 20 in. barrels. I had one in .243 and 6mm Rem. a few years ago.

Thanks, and yes, until the 600 came out the 700 non-magnums were 20" or so I've been told. I had a 20" early 308, but the stock was in pretty bad shape- the metal was good though. Supposedly it belonged to the Chicago SWAT. Now it's a 358.

I think that this rifle would have collector(?) value.

If you want 22" barreled 30-06's more will be coming from me. I think the 30-06 is the finest cartridge ever designed. Last count I had 13 or 14 of them. I'm getting too old and am selling one at a time.

Very nice. I have a '63 BDL fleur-de-lis pattern in bowling ball gloss. Bone stock 20".

I think I like your stock better. GLWS and Semper Fi.

I suspect shipping to be around $70, which I’ll pay. I’ll drop the price to $975 shipped to your FFL if your FFL will accept from a non-FFL. I had a FFL and know how to ship.

This rifle has been shot, but not many times. I think this early of a 700 will increase in value. Non the less, I need to sell rifles.
$950 shipped to a FFL who will accept from a non-FFL in the lower 48.
If it has to go through an FFL at this end add $30, California add $60.
FTF $875.

The most accurate rifle I own is a 70’s model 700 in 30-06.
If I didn’t have it and 3 other rifles chambered in 30-06 I would buy this one. Excellent rifle and great price.
