I recently obtained a CZ ZKK 600 in .270 Win and I took it out this morning to shoot it for the first time.
Using Norma 130 grain ammo, I shot a 2.5” group at 100 yds (open sights) which isn’t bad considering
I wasn’t wearing my glasses for my 58 year old eyes. Anyway, it seems there is an issue with the extractor.
After firing, when I opened the bolt to extract the case, it would pull the case, then the rim would slip out from under
the extractor and not be extracted properly. Can I replace this ZKK extractor with a regular mauser 98 extractor? If not,
where can I get a replacement ZKK 600 extractor?

Does the extractor show any damage. Is the collar loose? Have you checked the magazine follower for such as not fully rising or weak spring? Other words, done your 'due diligence', before considering a "transplant!" smile
IF Member z1r in this Forum can't help you, consider posting in the Gunboards "Workbench Forum". I'd also consider contacting CZ USA for directions to help 'if available at all' for such model.
Good Luck & Best!

A ‘06 length CZ 550 extractor will be your fix, if you decide to replace.

I haven't confirmed it myself on the 600, but I've used a lot of 550 extractors on 98's.

Collar is fine, but looking at the extractor vs my other ZKK bolts, it looks like the claw portion was filed. Looks like a new one is in order.

Got a regular mauser extractor and collar. Seems to work like a charm now.

Thanks. I have my eye on the 600s... they look like they could do well. Keep us posted on how well it runs!

An old trick was to file/grind a Mauser extractor so it would slip over a cartridge rim already in the chamber, like a push feed. What you describe is the down side of the practice.

I suspect that is exactly what was done.

Easy fix. Happy ending!

I’ve had some with that modification done properly, with no issues. It’s something I check when I get a “new” one, with a cleaning rod handy. Still, my habit with all CRFs is to push single rounds into the magazine. Saves trouble.

What fresh Hell is this?
