Covid has kinda worried me since it's start. I have a propensity for turning any cold/allergy issue into a crappy respiratory problem.
Pneumonia a couple times, bronchitis multiple times/year.
With that as a history, any respiratory issue is worrisome.

Whole Famdamly been sick over the last 2 weeks, wife first, I started Friday. Sinus drain. Hammered the flushes, the prescription sprays....

The chest crud showed up Saturday. Haven't went out hunting a bit.
Monday, the traditional 1st day is a work holiday.
Called off Tuesday.

Couldn't lay down in bed due to coughing. Coughed so hard my muscles got so sore that I had a flinch. Would start to cough and my muscles would refuse.
Couldn't sleep. This was all while taking opiate based cough medicine. Had a fever off and on 102.2° was highest. Responded to
Tylenol/ibuprofen. (I know about Ibuprofin)

Called off yesterday, sounded like an 80 year old 3 pack a dayer
Gave in to She Who Must be Obayed😉(sometimes) and got to the Doc.

She suggested a test, but wasn't at all insistent. Precautionary.
After a check, she agreed with my sinus infection diagnosis.
Even had treatment played out with antibiotics in the laptop to go
to the pharmacy. Then, "Let me check the test first, but it's likely
negative." Came back apologetic. "Wow, I'm sorry, but you are positive
for covid. I would have bet against it. And it wasn't just a little. You have the highest viral load we have seen in quite awhile"

Started steroids in the afternoon to calm my coughing from irritated lungs.
And felt better right away.
Burning 2 days vacation I have to burn anyway, or I'd be working today.

Bottom line.
As nasty as the cough might sound, it is normal for me. That's why we
both figured a sinus issue.
I have coughed so bad before that I separated ribs, almost blacked out, and striped underware. The steriod is a common treatment needed to get me straightend out.

It truly has been just like a cold.
Maybe a 3 or 4 of 10 on a scale of colds I've had.

If I had went to the Doc Monday or Tuesday, and not been tested?
I would have taken the steriod and been at work the next morning.
Wish that was what had happened.

Yep whether it’s COVID or not this is the way to go.

I don’t do COVID tests anymore they’re dumb. At this point it’s no more (not less) threatening than a bad cold or flu and treated the same way.

Have it okie.

Don't feel the need.
Don't like medicines, it's just the last few years that my ageing ass has decided to use it instead of toughing it out.

Glad you posted.

Even more glad you are on the mend. Hope you get outdoors soon Dillonbuck, the other kids are playing.

Seems impossible but I was in the dark about Zpack so thanks EFW and others.

Question- you said you know about ibuprofen. What did you mean by that?

Thanks,

Ibuprofen is often used, with or without, acetaminophen for fever.
Early on, it was found to worsen covid symptoms.
Haven't really heard about it since though.

I have two guys out with similar crud, serious sinus problems and a bit of a cough. I've had C19 twice, this one seems to be passing me by. Good thing, lots of work to be done.

Dutch,

Got one of those battery trucks in the planning.
500 miles at 81,000#.

That's gotta get you excited if,
It's real.
Real world.
And charging would be reasonable in time, money, location.

The cars can charge on a simple house 110/220v line.
Bet these will need more than 100/220v to get it done in a reasonable time.

A Z-Pack does absolutely nothing to/for viruses. What it does is kill bacteria, especially pneumonia causing bacteria. It is great for prophylaxis.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Daughter got kicked out of school Tuesday for a a scratchy voice and coughing Tuesday. Was thinking about taking her hunting, since we can't
"work". Just went to fix the fire, opened the door and the cool air hit me.

Instant coughing.

Docs call it reactive airways.
When mine are irritated, changes in air temp cause bad coughing.
Asthma inhalers barely help, I can breath, just can't quit coughing.
It is weird. Takes a good while to acclimate, then go back in and it happens again.

Gonna try to get wood in later, wearing a mask. If that goes ok,
we might go hunting.

20 years ago, we would have been burning diesel and hunting from the
Mobil blind. Too much posted property, too many houses, laws have changed, my feeling about it have changed, you could buy a pile of beef to buy the diesel we could burn. And it would darn sure suck to kill a nice buck that way.

The Z pack doesn't really do anything against the virus but it helps keep a bacterial infection from setting up in your lungs. The covid virus weakens your immune system to the point where the bacteria can go crazy in the lungs and cause pneumonia so the Z pack helps with it.

If you're having trouble with repeated "sinus infections" you might want to go to and ENT and have him look you over. I used to get multiple colds and sinus infections a year so I finally went to one and after a CAT scan he said I had a badly deviated septum which was blocking about 90% of the airflow in the right side of my nose. He operated on it (quick 30 min operation) and when I got the bandages/stuffing all out I couldn't believe how much better I could breathe. I'd never breathed correctly all my life so I didn't know any different. That was 10 years ago and I haven't had a sinus infection since and I've only had a couple of mild colds since that time. I did catch Covid twice though so it didn't help with that.

You really want to take aspirin with Covid. It has its own anti viral properties but way more importantly it “lubricates” blood. Anti coagulant and anti inflammatory properties. People get strokes and heart attacks from Covid. Aspirin is proven to help with these issues. As for ivermectin it has few if any side effects. If you have worms you’ll get diarrhea. The only side effect it had for me was it knocked out my Covid symptoms in 8 hours.
