You can have those things, grew up next to a coon hunter, dog pen was about 30 yards outside my bedroom. Then you'd have to hear the owner yell at them time and time again to shut up in the middle of the night.

Uncle Alva, I love’s. Walker’s are my favorite but I love to hear a good bawl from a bl/tan working alone. Great exercise and great fun from fall through winter. I love to watch and hear a good pack line a coon or bit Tom out. They’re a good looking young set of smart dogs.

Didn't the Atlanta PD retire their German Shepherds and train a bunch of coon dogs to replace them? They figured out it was not the Germans who were causing most of the trouble!

Most of my coonhounds were blueticks, but the best I ever had was a little red tick English bitch.

Pretty hound pups. I used to have Fox Walkers 30 years ago to run deer in eastern NC. Also used them to run foxes in the off season. Loved to hear a pack of hounds after deer. Lots of fun. I miss those days.

I had a Walker female for 14 years. Great dog. She treed a lot of coons over the years.

Why do I have to press 1, for English?

As a kid I hunted with others that had Black & Tans, and one Redbone. Lots of fun, but never got a hound of my own until I was in my 50's, a Bluetick, a rescue that was just a pet but one of the best dogs I ever had. Have had two other hounds since, another Bluetick, and an 85 pound Walker. Hounds sure have a personality.

I’ve never had the room for hounds or the space to run them but it’d be a cool experience that I’d like to have gotten into if I did.

Still suspect that Ol uncle Alvah is a troll trying to establish cred with a hound pup pic.

The nearest I got was a second hand basset hound that I tried training to run rabbits. Me at 15 with a cheesy hat and an army surplus milsurp jacket. [Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]
