I have four new extra feeder batteries that I have used for spinning wing decoys... I've recharged them but they run down withing a month or two from no use. Can I hook all four up to ONE 6v trickle charger?

Here is what I know about trickle chargers - on 12v vehicle batteries. Without abuse, my car/truck batteries normally stay good for about 10 years.

I use a high quality trickle charger with desulphation capability (Battery Minder, Batter Tender, NOCO) and add pairs of leads at the initial juncture, then hook up to as many as four 12v batteries. They work - keep all batteries up to charge - but if and when one of the batteries finally gets weak or dies, that can/will affect the function for the others attached. So, check all of them periodically.

I think you should be able to use almost any 12v trickle charger to charge two 6v batteries connected in series.

I don’t think they will ‘charge up’ a dead batter.

At least that’s what my nephew told me and he worked at Batteries Plus for about 5 years

Hmmmmmm thanks. Slum - I was talking about getting them up to charge and then placing them on a trickle with jumps to each one... sorry i was not more clear.

Buy new ones.
I've found some on Ebay for just under 10 bucks each.
Like everything else, they've gone up too.

If they are 6v SLA batteries, the answer is yes. You can parallel them and use one charger to keep them all charged. However make sure the charger is low aH and use a maintainer, not a trickle charger.

If you hook the charger leads to the first battery and then parallel the others to it, it will not charge the batteries equally. It is better to hook one lead to the first battery and the other lead to the last battery.

Batteries are reasonably new?

Those 6v lantern batteries don’t last long.

I buy news ones each year from academy for my feeders.

Cant have it go out when I’m after ol’ sad daddy deluxe….

Get news ones, throw the old ones in the gully out back
