Maybe someone will have use this. Today, finding factory made loads for a short chamber 16 gauge is hopeless. Being a machinist/inventor and owning a Ponsness/Warren 375, I visited the good folks at the P/W factory. It would be months before oddball shell lengths would be in stock. All I needed was the final taper crimp mechanism parts and the standard 2 3/4" 16ga. taper crimp sizing die (cheap, so I bought two). IMPORTANT; the factory die is for 2 3/4" shells, so, for example 2 9/16" shells shorten the die by 3/16". On a lathe; 1st make a sleeve to fit snugly over the standard sizing die (upper right last pic); 2nd slide the sleeve down to the rim of the sizing die; 3rd chuck it in the lathe leaving the dies mouth (small end) exposed; 4th using SHARP carbide tooling, machine to desired length then restore the bevel at the mouth. Done. The modified (shorter) sizing die in the photos is for 2 9/16".
