Beautiful.

I can’t think of many experiences cooler than running a trapline in AK.

Perhaps I should have put “trapline” in quotes. wink

Was a beauty night though.

Regardless, I like what you're doing there. I've been tempted, but I'm afraid I might snag the last breeder hereabout and ruin the cycle.

I like running a line for hares, but haven't done it in years. I'm just smart enough to catch a few....

No one but me likes to eat them, and having a wiener dog kinda precludes snares anywhere we walk the dogs or around the place.

T'was a nice moon last night.

I'm seeing tracks around, and occasionally one out the window, so it seems they are coming back. It's been over 25 years since the last peak- so much for the vaunted "13 year cycle".

How do I count? They were at near peak when our first Doxie was a year old. He lived to 11 (we spent many hours waiting for him to quit chasing the things on walks! Chako is better on leaving off the chase when we call. Just a little. smile ) , plus several more years after the Weasel died before 8 years in Kotz, and we have been home for 4. Just over double the normal cycle. I don't think they have peaked yet. Maybe next year.

The only true cost of having a dog is its death.
