I recognize that crunch, the same sound my finger made when mine attacked me.

Agree. A load of buck shot at about 15 yards could have taken both of them out with one shot.

Neighbors down the street have one that generally stays in his yard when we walk the dogs. Bothers my wife they don't keep it behind a fence. So far, has not been an issue, the little weenie dogs there are the instigators. Usually, if they're not around the pit just stays on his porch or by his garage. Will go back to his spots when we have to yell at him.

Neighbors like him around, and un-fenced, as he's killed a few coyotes that come around their place where they have some chickens, horses, and maybe some other critters.

The desert is a true treasure for him who seeks refuge from men and the evil of men.

At least a Grey hound or wolf hound kills them quick.

Greyhounds are amazing on coyotes, but they usually work in teams.

I’m glad the coyotes found out.
But I just do not trust pits.
They remind me of one of those crazy guy friends we all have or had. You never really trust what they will do if they get pissed. Damaged goods.

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

The owners should have stepped in and finished it, letting an animal suffer for your own enjoyment id fugged up even if it's a coyote.

I'm just one man, so maybe I was just super lucky, but the Pitbull I had the pleasure to own for twelve years was the best dog I've ever had. Not even close. Never one incident. Loved kids. Loved fetch. Only fought another dog if attacked by it.

Might have had something to do with wanting the dog to gain the experience.

Not at all. An average male Pitbull is about 60 pounds, but they can be as light as 50.

Any one of my buddy's hog catch dogs would have whipped that coyote back and forth like a rag doll. They are bigger than 60 pounds however.

Heck, if that coyote pissed off my nephew's Lab mix it wouldn't go well for Wile-E either. I've played tug of war with that dog and it's strong.

I've played tug of war with many of the dogs I've owned in my life, but none hold a candle to my Old English Bulldog in that department. I'm over 200 pounds (he's 70), and he shakes me around like a rag doll, which is why I gave up on playing that game with him.

You folks realize, of course, that the overwhelming majority of Pitbulls are owned for their entire natural lives without incident, right?
