I have a very nice Diavari V 2.5-10x50. I really like the size of the scope and the glass is excellent but....I have been wanting something with additional zoom such as the 3-18x50 V6.
Other than the larger size how does the V6 compare to the to the Diavari V? Any comments/experiences/suggestions appreciated. I am a sub 250 yard stand hunter so not too concerned with adjustable turrets. Thanks.

I'm wondering about the need (want?) to have a 18x scope without a dialing turret to use for hunting out to 250 yards.
Seems like the scope you have now would be great for that use unless you are shooting small varmints.
Just my comment/suggestion. YMMV.

I can clarify….I have no need for turrets on a regular basis/ to hunt locally in alabama but I plan to hunt mule deer in Colorado in the next few years. I don’t need 18x but that is what that specific model comes in.
If you have any experience with the scopes let me know.

I don't have any experience with this particular scope and that power range. I do have some experience with scopes with 10-12 max range; never had a problem with that power lever with range further than you stated. If you think, you need 18 power scope then you should pick it up.

Maybe as as a handloading load testing target shooter those 8 more x's might come in handy at the range, but I have read that mirage starts to become an issue much over 10x. Alabama hunting is likely different than Wisconsin woods hunting, but I've been very pleased with the optical quality of my Diavari V though in a much lower 1.5-6x42 zoom range. My western rifle does have a 2.5-10x42 Swarovski that I could swap out for that Diavari, but I'm remembering back when I hunted deer with a higher magnification 3-9x scope and had to make a running shot on a buck just after I had looked at some does at the 9x setting. This years deer was typical. Confirm a shooter at 3x, make the shot at 6x and dial back to 4x to watch for any movement. With a higher magnification variable, I know that I would zoom way up to make the shot which reduces my fov and exit pupil size. If I missed or got brush deflection, a follow up shot would be harder. I've only hunted Colorado 4 times and I still think that 2.5-10x42 Swarovski is near perfect for my western hunting rifle. I wouldn't be disciplined enough not to use more magnification than I'd need to make the shot. You might be different.
My other auto is a .45
The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded from memory
