Waste pipes need to be a minimum of 6" diameter to accommodate use of a full roll of toilet paper deemed necessary when going pee.

No daughters, but previous owners flushed all kinds of stuff down.

Forgive my incorrect terminology in advance.

There are three cleanouts around the perimeter of the house. There is also a cleanout or access point where everything exits the house. The main drain is clear. The blockage is between the stool and one of the pipes that connect with the main. Water flows freely through all the cleanouts. Whole house backed up a while back and the plumber found feminine sanitation and those wet wipes throughout. Everything good until now. Suspect it's more sanitation stuff. Anything more than a few squares of tissue will slow or block the stool. I'll probably have to pull the stool and send a snake down the drain. Good times anticipated.

Check the roof vents too. A clogged vent pipe will cause a drain not to work.

Water in bowl was high initially. Level is back to normal now. Flush seems ok, but it acts like the surge of water hits an obstruction and water flows back into the bowl. The whole thing seems to let liquids through slowly. Probably something hung up in the pipe.

No basement. Built on slab.

House had two of the cleanouts buried a foot deep without any riser or cover. Plumber helped me find those and we flushed out mud and muck too. Fixed that after much bitching about who would do this. Everything great since except recently for that bathroom.

For all the locating, fixing, and cleaning, the plumber did, he only charged 250. About 3 hours total. Local guy as a side gig. Referred by a friend.

I could have watched a million youtube videos and would have never found those cleanouts. 250 was a bargain to me.

That's quite a bargain the plumber gave you. That's a guy you want to be friends with.

Indeed. That's why I made sure I had cash so he didn't have to wait at all for payment.

My MIL used to live with us and she'd use huge wads of paper. I haven't had to clean out a TP clog in the bowl or lines, but I've had to clean wads of it out of the septic tank baffle a couple of times. Luckily, it's close to the surface and and I know exactly where it is. It's in a flower garden and I have a large flat rock on top of the lid.

Just me- I'd never allow paper and wipes and
kotex and such to be flushed. There's a tiny
trash receptacle right in front of the throne for
all that. Yeah, I'm familiar how much TP females
can use (read waste)
Depending on where, bathroom paper products
get doused and burned, or bagged and put out
with the other trash

The way my wife winds that stuff up around her hand it ends up looking like a white first baseman's glove. I got a no clog type toilet and haven't had a problem in that one since.

I helped a liberal neigbor with a drain pipe in his yard.

He called me a "slope nazi".

That's what they mean when they say "I need to go freshen up."
Going to take at least a half roll of toilet paper.

Newer toilets have a 2 1/2 water pathway instead of 3”, because they won’t siphon for lack of enough water. Low flow toilets suck. The stop up way easier!
