The same things you make in a crock-pot or pressure cooker.

Instant pot will turn those tough deer shanks into delicious stew in about an hour. Connective tissues and all.

Instant pot will turn those tough deer shanks into delicious stew in about an hour. Connective tissues and all. Yeah. Because it’s a pressure cooker.

It’s mostly a bean cooker at my house. Not that the beans are any better than those made in a crockpot but the speed. From hard beans to done in around an hour.
Put 1 pound of dry beans in pot. One ham hock or ham bone. One can chicken broth. Cumin, garlic, salt and pepper to taste. Water to one inch above beans. Lock down and pressure cook for 70 minutes. Eat beans.

This has made it's way into rotation. Chicken and noodles and leftovers for a day or two. I know it's called an Instant Pot making you think it's quick but the time it takes to come up to pressure before the cooking time actually starts doesn't make it as much as at time saver as I would have thought. That being said I use ours a lot and I am glad we have it. https://www.simplyhappyfoodie.com/instant-pot-chicken-noodles/#wprm-recipe-container-2016

We used to cube and can venison after pressure cooking it - all good.

Insta-Pots are good cooking tools but you have to understand what it is that you're getting and why you're getting it.
It puts a crock pot and pressure cooker into one, and eliminates the need for a stove top burner. In products like the Ninja Foodi it is even more versatile and eliminates the need for other things to include an air fryer. If these are features you often use in your cooking, they make sense. But they are still a compromise.
A standard pressure cooker with 1 & 2 pressure settings are far more robust and will give years of service. They're also easier to clean and hold/cook a lot more schit. There's also nothing to break on them except the little valve that relieves the pressure once it reaches a certain pressure. But the Insta-Pot's not only have the same valve that can fail, they have electronics that will fail as well.
Obviously they also serve as a crock and that's a good thing. But you'll find the capacities and ability to clean are also drawbacks. And you're still dealing with electronics that are going to inevitably fail.
Add to this most people already have a crock or three and the purchase of an Insta-Pot rarely results in someone throwing their old crocks away. Especially if they cook a lot.
The good news is most of the more reputable makers have good warranties. My wife had an Insta-pot that took a schit after a year and Insta-pot replaced the whole damn thing free of charge. They only asked for a couple pictures and an explanation of the failure.
Most people that rave about Insta-Pots simply don't cook a lot or don't understand what it is they bought. It's not that they have no value, but they're mostly a waste of time, money and an overly complicated piece of schit.

We used to cube and can venison after pressure cooking it - all good. You don't can venison after you pressure cook it. You can it in the jar via a pressure canner. Sorry if I misunderstood your original post but it says you were thinking about buying one and I was trying to explain they're a silly product. But if you already bought one just use it like a pressure cooker and a crock.

We like ours.
Wife does all kind of stuff. We got the big one that does sous vide, which i like.
It's great for hardboiled eggs. And dry beans.
Not sure if I'm with or countering Deflave, but the eggs are a great example of why we like it. We have little counterspace, and it is on some of it. Wouldn't go to the basement to get the pressure cooker for 6 eggs. Pecker around with the jiggler timing them....
Put them in the Instapot, water, set if for 5 minutes, and when it beeps wait 5. Not huge, but easier. Because it does so much it can sit there waiting. We don't have to juggle, the crock, the pressure cooker......
For a young couple starting out, they would be great.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!
