Was my wife's grandfather's. He did a lot of deer hunting back in the 80s, 90s and up a little into the 2000s until a wreck broke his neck and he never got back into the hunting deal.

I found this in all of his stuff but noticed it has no model number stamped on blade.

For sure older and I don't know when the Chinese started importing fake Bucks but I have to wonder.

Any idea as to a possible model if real?

It has been sharpened and still is pretty sharp. Sheath looks like other older Bucks I have or have had.

Looks like an early #105 Pathfinder. No date code and inverted tang stamp should place it pre-1973.
Very nice classic.

Inverted tang stamp?

Meaning name facing blade and not towards handle?

Looks like a backwards stamped 105, possibly 118, hard to say without seeing the tip.

The backwards stamp makes it pretty old.

This might help

Looks like it's been sharpened a time or 3.

When I was 14 in 1965, Buck knives like that were $10 ~ $15, impossibly out of reach for me.

Looks like either a Buck 105 Pathfinder or a Buck 121 Fisherman (model number may be stamped on back of leather sheath). 'Inverted tang stamp' means read it with the blade tip-down, later models are read with the blade tip-up. 440C blade steel with a lot of hand hafting in those days, little variances between individual knives.
