'If I committed suicide, it's not real': Elon Musk declares he is not 'suicidal' in bizarre Q&A where he discusses potential "RETALIATION" for 'Twitter Files' leaks
The Twitter CEO was quizzed on his personal safety during another Twitter Spaces appearance just 24 hours after released internal documents about the platform's decision to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story.
Tech guru Kim Dotcom asked the world's richest man if he had been having ‘suicidal thoughts’ out of the blue – something that shocked other participants of the chat.
Musk, 51, replied: ‘I do not have any suicidal thoughts. If I committed suicide, it’s not real.’
The world's richest man completed his $44billion takeover of Twitter in October and said that he had faced a higher risk to his personal safety because of his actions at the company.
He cut the workforce by around half in the first week of November when he officially took over, with 3,700 people losing their jobs.
Members of staff discovered that they were fired after being logged out of their work around during the sweeping layoffs.
Musk said: ‘Frankly, the risk of something bad happening or literally even being shot is quite significant.
‘I’m definitely not going to be doing any open-air car parades, let me put it that way. It’s not that hard to kill me if somebody wanted to, so hopefully they don’t.
‘Maybe I should be more worried than I am, but I think generally, if you do right by the people, you have the people on your side.’
It is not the first time that the Tesla CEO has hinted at threats to his life, posting a cryptic tweet after clashing with a prominent Russian official over his decision to provide Starlink satellite internet to Ukraine.
He said: ‘If I die under mysterious circumstances, its been nice knowin yah’.
During the bizarre exchange Musk also indicated that there are ‘more smoking guns’ regarding censorship under Twitter's past leadership.
He hinted that there would be more releases in the near future – similar to that of the information published around Hunter Biden and the supposed cover up by Twitter.
Musk added: ‘We’re just gonna put all the information out there, try to get a clean slate, we will be iteratively better and it will force other media companies to also be more truthful or else they’ll lose their readership.’
He published a slew of tweets containing emails from Twitter executives involved in censoring Hunter Biden's laptop.
In one of these emails, sent ten days after The New York Post first broke the laptop story on October 14 of that year, Twitter staffers were asked to 'review' five tweets deemed problematic by 'the Biden team.'
That same day, another email reveals that there was an additional complaint from the DNC and two more tweets were deleted.
It is not clear from the leaked emails what the deleted tweets were about, however Washington Free Beacon investigative reporter Andrew Kerr said he had discovered the contents of several of the tweets.
He said three of the tweets the Biden camp demanded be deleted contained 'Hunter Biden porn' and photos of Biden's genitalia, from the laptop.
He claims one of the tweets requested to be deleted by the DNC was from actor James Woods and was about Hunter smoking crack and a committing a sex act.
And he says the second tweet was a link to Hunter Biden weighing and using drugs, and another link to a Hunter Biden sex tape.
Musk also addressed the possibility of a government crackdown, during a increased period of scrutiny over his handling of the company.
He said: ‘I think there probably will be some actions that will happen, but they’ll happen slowly.
It’s only been a month so far, but I would expect some, there’s probably at least a few nefarious things that are in the works, right.
‘It would be naïve to assume there are no nefarious things. I’ll just expose them on Twitter and see what happens.’
