Any recs for a compact and light stool/chair?

Something compact-able and light enough to stow in a small daypack. Feet that won’t sink into soft dirt.

I have a couple of these from Trekology. They have an optional sand pad that you can get to use it on real soft ground. Some of these chairs like this are hard to get out of but I don't have any problem with this one, even at my stiff old age. The chair alone weights 2.1lb.

I have a similar Amazon Chinese knock off. I just cut an extra piece of tyvek slightly larger than the footprint. Seems to work good for me.

I've been known to use a small swiveling tree seat that straps onto a tree. Biggest hassle is it's one more thing to lug into the woods. I usually just use it to sit on for the first couple hours then leave it there and grab it when I'm heading back in after moving around. If I sat on it in one spot all day (or sat in a stand or blind all day) I'd go stark raving bonkers.

Does it make much noise when it swivels?

Doesn’t swivel. It makes a bit of noise when opened, but not much if you’re careful. Rock-solid. Some of the other ones may collapse when tilted too far. I gave mine a pretty good test for that, and it passed.

Absolutely my all time favorite “deer stand”.

I’ve used this combination for years. The webb seat will dry rot after several years. Got three deer from it this season so far. The pads are tied together with paracord and they get me high enough off the ground that my back doesn’t kill me. The legs don’t sink in the soft river bottom soil. Rifle lays across my lap, arms lay on my rifle, lean back and take a nap.

Weighs 3-1/2lbs. The seat has a long shoulder strap so I slide it around to the small of my back. Doesn’t catch on limbs and brush.
Take a number of turkey, deer, squirrel and whatever needs a bullet.

This one is almost the same as Rock Chucks chair. Really comfortable. Wife found them somewhere for $15.

Helinox Chair One is the standard for lightweight, easily packable chairs. I own multiple, they're light/compact enough to strap on a day pack (or drop inside), easy assembly, and quality built.

I also owned several of the cheaper imitations, like Trekology, and have given 'em away.

Helinox costs more, but is worth the few extra bucks.

Pappy, that looks pretty good.

Not light, but looks comfy, and the side table could hold your gun off the ground while you rattle or call. Alps makes good stuff. I have one of their 800lb capacity chairs for sitting in the yard. Has cup holders and side pouches for reading material.

I’ve been known to leave folders in the woods until they crumble, though keeping them in the carry bag helps their lifespan.

I was looking for that exact seat the other day. Never found it.

I’ve never been around one of these but everything I’ve bought from Redneck seems to be quality. They’re probably as small and lightweight as you’ll find.

I have one of these folding seats made by Buckwing. Not sure if they're even still in business.
