For those who have already spoken for a knife in the next build, I have logged your request in.
This build will be spread over most of the year.
Thanks Tim

Do you have a price list somewhere, or is it varied a lot depending on scale material?

I do not have a web site and have never posted a price list anywhere, but prices have held pretty constant for a while. I have several customers that have told me to raise my prices, but this is basically a hobby and not out for a lot of profit.
When I give a price it is with micarta or something pretty routine in nature. Some handle materials obviously cost more to acquired or more difficult to work with. I can use your handle material.
Most knives run in the $160 - $225 range shipped with a leather sheath.
Thanks Tim

I have the 5" boner and the Slim. So glad I decided to on those. About as useful as any designs out there for my needs. Think I'll go a different direction this time.
Tim, if you have these blades still on hand, how about a #8 Skinner and a # 5 DP this time. If ok, I'll get with you on the handles later.

For those who have spoken for a knife-----
If you have not requested a handle material, please pm me and let me know your material preferences and liner color if you want liner under the scales.
I usually have a variety of materials on hand, but special requests may need attention.
I have a variety of woods, such as walnut, maple, desert ironwood plus some odds and ends. I usually keep black, green, natural/tan and maroon linen micarta on hand but can get anything Jantz has. I usually have some G-10 in basic colors, I am not that big of a fan of G-10 as it is glass filled and quite heavy and is hard on saw blades, but it can be done. I also have antler material such as caribou, elk. limited sambar stag scales and rounds for stick tang blades. Plus other accumulated stuff.
Thanks Tim

Not a big issue here, I just like to be ahead of the game if possible instead of last minute scrambling for something I could have gotten easily previously. The manmade stuff is pretty standard with the suppliers, but the natural stuff is best bought when you get a chance to actually handle and look at it. Thanks Tim

Well I guess the sabbatical is about over. 2022 was a very busy year and I do appreciate the business. But I an hoping for this year to be down a little and i am going to go a little slower (I think) this year.
I am starting to work up the info and batches for this year. I cut blanks for all known orders and add some blades to the build for the late comers and other orders. Not a problem filling all orders I have this year, just not forecasting a ship date yet,but....... S/B sometime from early spring to fall or so.
Thanks tor the business. Tim

Well, I am getting close to a 40+ blade grind. Waiting for the weather to lighten up a bit so the unheated garage is not tooooo cold to work in. Probably another batch grind later this year.
I have piece mealed out a couple knives from blades I had on hand and will have a few more in a couple months or so. Then later I will be doing the new build knives.
Thanks Tim

Opened up the doors due to some sun shine and a slight break in the weather to do some blade grinding yesterday. Long ways to go, but will be slowly working on this batch in future. Tim

I have a couple variants of the slim and a bigger one all in S35VN from Tim and have been cutting a lot of meat with the smallest of the 3. I am more impressed with that steel every day! It's by far the easiest knife steel to live with of anything I've ever used.

There are a few of you customers in this run that have not expressed a handle material preference yet. I will be sorting out and notifying once again those who have not responded to this matter. I am in the building mode and have shipped a few. Quite a few to go yet so be patient please. Thanks Tim

I am anxious to hear some reports on how the new patterns perform.
The Lite Semi Skinner and Snub Nose are now in the hands of some of you.
Mannlicher reported the original Snub Nose was quite the deer unzipper. Probably works as a edc also. No other reports yet, so...... We may have to wait for fall seasons to get here. Tim

I got a Snub Nose with Desert Ironwood and a 5” boning knife with Micarta scales the other day. I absolutely love the boning knife! I haven’t used the Snub Nose on anything yet other that cutting off arm hair to see how sharp it is…..it is vary sharp. They both are. The little place for your thumb on top of the “Boner” works exceptionally well and makes short work of a chicken. It and the Snob Nose should work well on deer and pigs plus I have one of his Michigan Slims. I like Tim’s knives if you can’t tell

Well, I am pretty well caught up with the original requests this go around. There are a few late requests and special customs that I need to grind, HT...... etc and I have some left over standard pattern blanks to grind.
I do have a couple heat treated blades available also. If you have any current interests get with me. See first two posts at the start of this thread.
I am not sure what I will do next year. May not buy more steel and just work through the steel, blanks and blades I have on hand. These last two years were the busiest yet but..... Getting older but not totally ready to stop making knives, so......
Hope to hear some more reports as hunting season gets here.
Thanks Tim

Skinned/quartered a second deer tonight with this years build. Didn’t snap a pic of using it with my boys deer a few weeks ago. [/url]

Just sending a batch of blades for heat treat.
I should have and extra blade or two of most patterns shown at the top of this threat. Be finishing them this winter.
Thanks Tim

I’d like a #4 boning knife if ones available.

PMs answered. No more 5" Boning knives left in this build. I will need to buy more steel for next build sometime in 2024. Some other models still open. PM interests and I will review. Thanks Tim

I think it's the Snub Nose or the Bull Nose I've forgotten..
It's not too big and not too small. Great steel and super sharp!
Edit, I found the card Tim sent with the knife and he named it a Small Bull Nose but I might have the first one out the shop.
If the name gets tweaked it won't matter. It's a great knife!

If you refer to the first post in this thread, you will see this pattern as a Lite Semi Skinner.
S35VN steel and approx. .100" thick stock. Thanks Tim
PS: I believe that colodog talked me out of that one. It was a first off that I was playing with before making it a permanent pattern.

G what is the top knife? Do you happen to have any more pictures of it? OK here are the latest two from Tim The one you inquired about Tim calls the "Lite Semi Skinner" I am very impressed with it, to put it mildly, and expect it to get quite a bit of use in the future. The second Tim calls the "Snub Nose"knife. I have not used it yet. Best, GWB

Another thanks to Tim for his Lite Semi Skinner. I used this yesterday (11/20/23) to skin a whitetail. Brought a big smile to my face using this laser cutter. Knife is bottom one in pic.

FWIW I received a couple sheets of S35VN yesterday. I am finishing up current build for this winter in the next month or so. Will start thinking about 2024 in January. I will be slowing down a bit I am thinking. Blades available will be along the lines of the first post on this thread.
Thanks Tim

WOW!! Got the bill. $46/# for S35VN. I do not intend to raise prices due to increased prices for materials, but it is getting expensive.

I got to personally field test the Lite Semi Skinner on a donated doe this week. I am quite pleased with how it performed skinning and cutting up the deer. Seems to be a pretty good pattern for both.

Sam I have pretty much landed on S35VN and think I will stay with that. It has gotten plenty of good reviews. I just had some blanks water jet cut out of sheets of that steel. Some are 5" boner blanks so I can put you on the list for the next grind/build if you wish. Thanks Tim

I am finishing up the last of the blades in this last grind. Some more notices will go out in a couple days.
I will be doing a 2024 grind/batch but not getting started right away. I will be adding a couple blades in a pattern called "Pro Hunter" with the stuff listed in the start of this thread. I have a couple projects (for myself mostly) and a couple very special requests to take care of next. Then another batch of blades.
Happy New Year. I am not happy with the years going by so fast anymore, but I am done with this one. Thanks Tim

Got the orders from the last go round done. Now have to start working on later requests that came in. Need to profile, surface grind flat and remove mill finish, drill holes, grind bevels, heat treat, final grind. do handles, sharpen and sheaths. Getting started, but slow going.
Had 4 separate power outages just this week. We are in the bulls eye of the cold and snow blowing across the country. Snow has been very wet and trees are holding a bunch of it. Kinda sucks. Tim

LJD2 The bnt kinda morphed into the Michigan Slim.
I might have a left over blade in some form of the bnt pattern if you are interested.
Thanks Tim

Scott/onerifle ( and others.)
Thanks for the inquiry. I do not normally sell just blades for others to assemble and finish.
There are multiple supply houses that provide a wide variety of blades ready to assemble.
I keep fairly busy just making blades and finishing knives that that are ordered and I sell complete.
Thanks Tim

I am about ready to start on grinding the next batch of blades. The weather and old age mood swings has made it difficult to get moving.
