Growing up in Delta, I hunted the Uncompahgre in its heyday. Made special trips home from the AF for hunting season. Really do miss it, and it certainly is not like it was in the 60's and 70's. My dad's ashes were scattered from Windy Point, on one of those days when you could see clear into creation.

The Unc certainly has changed, all of Western Colorado has. I’m in Palisade so it’s close, we spend most of the summer up there. Windy Point, right on the edge, is one of our favorite campsites. It’s a great spot for your Dad to be.
